About

King County's Brightwater plant treats wastewater for the north part of the region and offers tours on how wastewater becomes reusable water, energy and nutrients. A tour lasts two hours, with a 30-minute introduction and a walk outside and in an industrial setting, so long pants and closed-toed shoes are required. Individuals and families register for scheduled community tours listed on the county's events page; larger groups can request their own dates.

Owner: King County. Run by: King County Wastewater Treatment Division.
