    About

The Erie Canal Museum occupies the Syracuse Weighlock Building, where canal boats were once weighed to set tolls. It tells 200 years of Erie Canal history with artifacts and interactive displays, mostly as a self-guided visit, with docents on some mornings. Admission is pay what you wish, and walking tours run in summer. Renovation work by the county is ongoing.
