    About

B Reactor is a decommissioned plutonium production reactor on the Hanford Site in Washington, now part of Manhattan Project National Historical Park. The Department of Energy runs the tours, and its 2026 season covers the free pre-WWII historic sites, which pass B Reactor from the bus or outside the fence. B Reactor's interior tours are suspended for construction; the DOE's tour site projects them resuming in late summer 2027, while a tourism notice says 2027 is off and 2028 undecided. The park's free Atomic Explorations ranger programs at its visitor center take no reservations.
