The Putnam combines a hands-on science center, called Science in Action, with natural world exhibits and a giant screen theater in Davenport, Iowa. It is open every day, with a shorter Sunday, and closes on a handful of holidays plus a maintenance week in early January. Documentary films cost extra, and private behind-the-scenes tours are offered by request.
